What's on in Waikato

Waikato is in the heart of the North Island and the area encompasses the fourth largest city in New Zealand and also the country's longest river. It is a region rich in cultural history and diverse natural wonders. From the famous black beaches of the west coast, and the uniqueness of the Waitomo Caves in the south to the easily accessible walks and cycle tracks along the majestic Waikato River this region has so much to offer. The country's premier ballooning event is held here every year as are many sporting events and also music and art festivals.

Even though it's less than a couple of hours south of Auckland, your experience would be richer for staying in the region longer and exploring everything that's here from the comfort of the naturist club right here in the area.
