Supporter Group Secretary - Colin Basire
Colin has been involved in naturism since the mid 1970’s when he joined the Waikato Outdoor Society at Pirongia. In 1982 he moved to Napier and joined the Hawke’s Bay Sun Club (as it was then known). He had some time away from the movement but rejoined Hawke’s Bay Outdoor Leisure Club in 2004.
He was editor of the Hawke’s Bay Club newsletter during 2006-07 which won the best newsletter award for 2006 and shared first equal with Wellington Naturist Club newsletter for 2007. He was Secretary for Hawke’s Bay Outdoor Leisure Club during 2006-07 and was instrumental in changing the club name to a more meaningful Hawke’s Bay Naturist Club.
He has taken a keen interest in naturism and the NZNF since the 2005-06 Rally at Taranaki. He recently had a hand in the design of the new NZNF flag and also assisted in the trade mark protection of the ‘gonatural’ logo.
He has written articles for the ‘gonatural’ magazine (aka George Goldie). His article in the December 2007 issue of ‘gonatural’ called ‘Proud to be a Naturist’ says it all.
Colin looks forward to managing the Supporter Group and plans to keep in touch with the membership of the group on a regular basis.
