About the New Zealand Naturist Federation

For more than 60 years the NZNF has promoted naturism throughout New Zealand and supported affiliates by acting as a co-ordinated body for the movement.

The New Zealand Naturist Federation (NZNF) is a member based (affiliate) organisation.

Joining a club or organisation affiliated to the New Zealand Naturist Federation entitles you to an NZNF membership card, allowing you to visit other naturist clubs and organisations in New Zealand and around the world.

Objectives of the New Zealand Naturist Federation

  • To foster and promote the naturist lifestyle throughout New Zealand and to support affiliated members by acting as a coordinating body.
  • To issue publications which demonstrate the naturist lifestyle in New Zealand and overseas, which will in turn educate the public about naturism.
  • To acquire a library of information including books, magazines, films, recordings, photographs or other media which pertains to the practice of naturism.

The NZNF is dedicated to informing the public about the benefits of naturism with an emphasis on nude recreation as a wholesome activity for the whole family. 

We endeavour to introduce families and individuals to a club, organisation or location in their area so they can experience the naturist lifestyle.

Naturism is a lifestyle choice based on the INF-FNI definition: "Naturism is a way of life in harmony with nature, expressed through social nudity, linked to self-respect, tolerance of differing views together with respect for the environment".

NZNF Executive

The NZNF Executive are elected by the members of the Federation at the annual council meeting.

Additionally, there are several appointments made by the NZNF executive:

  • NZ Naturists Secretary (currently managed by the Free Beach Group President)

  • Archivist

We also have an Archivist who collects news from around the clubs and protects the history of the organisation.
